Your thoughts and emotions are key factors in your experience of chronic pain. This is not to say, in any way, that your pain experience isn't real, but you must understand the mind-body connection in order to recover. Once you discover how to invite repressed emotions to rise to the surface, the body settles into a balanced state that eliminates symptoms triggered in a fight-or-flight mode. Calming the nervous system will be your way out of chronic pain, the key to freeing yourself from the protective mechanisms by which the brain and nervous system create chronic pain.
